To equip families with the proper resources to facilitate spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth through empowerment and enrichment.
To transform the hearts and minds of our children through ministry and mentorship.
Rachel Delesdernier, a single mother living in southwest Miami-Dade, received a phone call every parent fears. On November 20, 2018 they informed Rachel her only son Joseph aka “Jo Jo” Delesdernier had been shot. Jo Jo died from his wounds shortly after. Rachel’s was now among the staggering number of mothers in South Florida to lose a child to gun violence. Faced with a choice to give up or give hope, this inspiring mother decided to give hope. She quickly realized that her faith and love of God taught her how to forgive and how to be forgiven. The anger, grief and sadness that once leveled this heart broken mother to the floor, was transformed into strength and determination. Rachel founded Angelz On Deck during the Spring of 2019 to provide resources for at risk teens and other grieving parents. Conscious of the lack of judicial resources for minority families Rachel wanted to help bridge the gap.
Through various collaborations with pastors, mentors and community leaders Rachel embarked on a journey to not only save lives but to save souls. Ministry flows from Rachel through song and dance. Her ability to connect with disadvantaged children in such an effective way can only be explained as a God given gift. The love and compassion that Ms. Delesdernier gives is at the very core of Angelz On Deck. We are here every step of the way to assist our youth with navigating through life challenges. Our team is committed to excellence and dedicated to creating change for our children, our families and our communities. We teach them to love themselves and each other, how God loves us. We instil in them values and morals that they can be proud of, as well as how to embrace their flaws and learn from their mistakes. Through motivation they are reminded not to give up on themselves even if it seems like everyone has. We are their Angelz and they are our future! We must and we will protect, uplift and guide them.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs 22:6
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. I would like to give a special thank you to Rene Level Martinez for featuring Jo Jo's story in this documentary.
